Valve could be designing a controller with interchangeable components for its SteamBox

The rumors about the possibility that Valve are designing your own hardware, named SteamBoxThey have not stopped happening during the last days; and the latter refers to a company patent that points to the design of a controller Made up of interchangeable components that would allow the player to adapt their controller to all types of video games.
This patent, registered in 2009 and published in 2011, indicates that this controller would allow the use of "interchangeable parts", citing the possibility of including or eliminating a trackball panel.
At the moment Valve has not commented on the matter, although it could make an official announcement throughout this week coinciding with the celebration of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
