Tetsuya Nomura: "Pixar worlds were necessary in Kingdom Hearts III"
3DJuegos interviewed the Square Enix artist at E3 2018. He reviewed the choice of worlds.
How do you choose worlds to make a Kingdom Hearts? Tetsuya Nomura, director of Kingdom Hearts III, explained to 3DJuegos the process of creating and choosing worlds, and specified some keys for the selection of new Disney classics. "What fans would hate is that we had the same worlds over and over again," he confessed to us in our interview at E3 2018, "for Kingdom Hearts 3 we felt totally necessary to explore new worlds in the game mostly and Pixar was something that I wanted and was necessary for me to make the third part come true. "
"The way I choose worlds with my team is always the same: I ask them for ideas of worlds and what we can do with them. Then they come up with concepts that they give me and I study until reaching a conclusion." Nomura guaranteed us that many were left in the inkwell, explaining that "there are many worlds that I would like to have in Kingdom Hearts 3, but you have to be realistic with the release date and the development time of the game when including a specific number of worlds".
Is there a relationship between the choice of contemporary Disney classics like Big Hero 6, Frozen, Tangled, or the Pixar movies? Is it due to the ease of carrying CG characters instead of those seen in animated films? Nothing could be further from the truth: Nomura explained that "our team was more motivated creating worlds for Kingdom Hearts 3 based on more recent and popular movies."
