Sony Santa Monica does not rule out Egypt or the Mayans for other God of War

Cory Barlog, director of the new installment, ensures that they have to reinvent themselves to maintain interest.

The long-awaited God of War, which is released in just a couple of months, is one of the most anticipated video games of this year 2018, and has been the cover of the prestigious GameInformer magazine. Among other things, the magazine has some articles of interest about the program, including an interview with Cory Barlog, its director.

"The games set in Greece were what constituted the Greek age of God of War saga"recalls the creative." As we move forward, the next mythological belief system that Kratos interacts with was that of the Norse people that constitutes that era for God of War. But, in the future, we could end up going to other eras like the Egyptians or the Mayans, and from then on. "

Barlog also recognized that, for the survival of the series, it has to reach much higher heights of popularity as franchises like Uncharted or Assassin's Creed. "For me it is important to raise the popularity of the franchise. We want to reach a lot of people, and for this it was evident that the formula was getting a bit old (...) What could be next? We needed to turn things around to keep fans interested, and we want IP to reach series levels like Uncharted or Assassin's Creed'.
