Sony estimates there will be 60 million PlayStation 4s in the world by April 2017
At the moment the number of units of the most recent Sony game console is around 40 million.
Sony has announced its intention to reach the 60 million units of Playstation 4 sold worldwide by April 2017, at which point their fiscal year ends.
This would mean, always according to the Japanese company, an increase of 8.3% in general sales compared to the previous year, and they consider that sales of software through the internet and those of hardware will continue to contribute to this general increase.
Today, PS4 sales around the world are around 40 million game consoles, three years after its launch; which is about half of the 80 million that PS3 managed to sell back in November 2013, just seven years after the device was put on sale.
