Sony is "very surprised" with the success of Resident Evil 7 on PS VR
Capcom's video game surpassed 3.5 million games sold in April.
Along with Farpoint, which was released just a few weeks ago, the outstanding Resident Evil 7 has become one of the most important video games in PlayStation VR but at Sony, they did not imagine that it would be such a success. At least that is how it is reflected by the opinion of the head of marketing of PlayStation, Jim Ryan, who has recognized that the Japanese company is "very surprised" by the good results of the video game of Capcom in virtual reality.
"We had no idea that virtual reality would play such an important role in the success of Resident Evil 7," says the Sony executive. "The percentage of people who have enjoyed the game on PS4, and then VR, is in double digits." Ryan does not specify the percentage, but he does suggest that there are more than the 232,293 that are reflected on the website of the video game itself, where only those people who have activated an account for this purpose are shown. "It was a great surprise for us," concludes the manager.
According to data provided by Capcom, RE7 had sold more than 3.5 million copies worldwide as of April 2017.
