Sony has announced structural changes to its entertainment division. The first effective has been the creation of a new company, the Sony Interactive Entertainment, which will begin its journey on April 1, 2016, just at the beginning of the next fiscal year. Born from the strength of Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) and that of Sony Network Entertainment (SNEI). The new company will be fully active in the fields of hardware, software and online content. It will be directed and chaired by Andrew House from San Mateo, California. It will have headquarters and operations centers in other important places for the brand such as London and Tokyo.

There will be no major changes between the different Sony bosses on PlayStation and all the projects related to the company. The main objective of the new creation, according to House himself, is to "become a more powerful entity and with the aim of accelerating the growth of business in the PlayStation area." One of the most recognizable pillars of the company in recent times, the president of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has shared the information on his official Twitter account. He explained that he is now accountable to Shawn layden but it does not seem that it will undergo major changes in the coming months.

Sony's online services division, Network Entertainment was founded in April 2010. The company's objective was to create and improve the entertainment services that the Japanese company has been adding in recent years to its online platforms in the PlayStation family.
