Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire gets an update with its toughest challenge yet
The first players to complete it will be immortalized in the Obsidian office.
Obsidian Entertainment commemorates the first anniversary of the great Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire by introducing the ambitious 5.0 update, which includes numerous improvements and additions to the game. Of all of them, surely the most outstanding is'The Ultimate Challenge', a challenge designed for the elite of players who know the course and mechanics of the game like the back of their hands.
Activating The Ultimate Challenge also enables the Challenge of the Gods challenge. For example, it does not allow us to recruit other characters or pause the game, and in turn-based mode we have only 10 seconds to make strategic decisions. We cannot flee from combat, and any character stunned for 10 seconds or 3 turns is considered dead. And that's just to name a few examples!
Obsidian doubts that it is even possible to complete the game in this way, but you never know what could happen, so the first 50 players to achieve this feat (if there are any) will be rewarded with custom patches. And the top 12, on top of that, too they will see their names engraved on a plaque in the Obsidian lobby, along with the name, class and level of your characters.
Apart from this, update 5.0 also greatly improves the interface for naval combat in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, and also marks the final release of the turn-based combat system. On the other hand, add additional dialogues to improve the story and adjust the difficulty and duration of the game for those who decide not to ally with any faction.
