The new generation of PlayStation in 2018? Analysts point to it
The news comes from the same source that released PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim.
For a few weeks the analyst firm Macquarie Capital Securities points out that the new generation of PlayStation consoles, possibly PS5, will go on sale in 2018. At that time they pointed out that the Sony machine would have more than 10 teraflops of power, and in a recent report, they have reaffirmed this information again: next year we should be able to enjoy the new generation of PlayStation.
The Wall Street Journal newspaper echoes this prediction, as it comes from the same source that released PS4 Pro in the past and PS4 Slim, analyst Damian Thong. "He says he expects Sony to launch the next generation of PlayStation in the second half of 2018," the news can read. No more details are provided about the origin of the information, nor of course, Sony has commented anything about it. Not before, not in this new report. However, the source seems reliable for the certainty it showed long ago.
This morning we learned how Sony has shipped a total of 60 million PS4s to stores. The figure for the end of March 2018, the closing date of this fiscal year and months before the arrival of this hypothetical new generation, would reach 78 million video game consoles.
