Bloodborne servers emergency stoppage was due to an exploit
It would have allowed fans of From Software's action RPG to download the DLC for free. The repair only took a few hours.
The launch of Ancient Hunters, the new and remarkable Bloodborne DLC, has been somewhat more bumpy than we expected, and it has included an emergency stop on the servers of the title of From Software which has prevented fans from accessing the servers for a few hours but has already returned the title to the network.
Now we finally know the reasons, and it is that the Japanese company has issued a statement in which the reasoning behind this arrest is not explained in detail.
"We are currently conducting emergency maintenance on the video game servers," said a spokesman, who announced that the repair could take days, although it has finally been only a few hours. "We have received very important feedback on an exploit and some serious issues that exist in the game."
The reason? According to Kotaku, it was due to an exploit that allows the DLC itself to be released for free for owners of the video game.
