Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is "the best and biggest game in the series", according to Ubisoft
It has more than 1,000 developers, spread over eight different studios.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint currently has a two-year production process, according to what Ubisoft Paris officials told 3DJuegos on a visit to their offices. In the video game he is working the same team as in Ghost Recon: Wildlands: "Breakpoint is just as big, but better, thanks to everything we've learned." In total, there are more than a thousand developers involved, spread over eight studios: Paris, Milan, Monpellier, Bordeaux, Belgrade, Kiev, Odessa and Bucharest. The latter is in charge of the PVP.
In the study they declare themselves "fans of Ghost Recon", and claim to have wanted to create something new. For that reason they have devised a fictional island, with new enemies and a gameplay that depends on the environment: "We have looked at previous video games in the series to try to build something new," said Nouredine Abboud (Executive Producer).
"Despite the fact that creating a video game between eight studios is a complicated task and there was no lack of communication problems, the excitement for Ghost Recon kept us together," added Abboud. Ubisoft Paris defends two great nuclei for the creation of Breakpoint: one has to do with the world, with the island as a fundamental piece to create a survival gameplay; and the other is related to technology, with using the latest tools and techniques: "What we are doing was not possible in Wildlands".
As a curious detail, Eric Couzian (Creative Director) sentenced us that for Breakpoint they have not been inspired by any Tom Clancy book in particular: "It is actually based on our experience with the series, what we had overlooked and the I work with military experts. " Of course, they see it important that the games interact with each other, and that is the reason why new free missions were launched for Wildlands that explains where the new villain that we will see in Breakpoint comes from.
