What would Sakura from Street Fighter be like if she were an Overwatch character?
A fan creates a version of the popular Capcom fighter who dares with The Bottle Cap Kick Challenge.
Since its appearance in 1996 within the selection of fighters of Street fighter alpha 3, Sakura has become one of the most popular characters in the Capcom fighting series. A character that rivals great icons like Ryu or Chun-Li in the amount of fanart that fans dedicate to it. One of the most recent is this one created by the digital artist Andy Vargas.
Vargas, who has worked as an animator and character designer for different studios, has shared this version of Sakura in his space on ArtStation with a design style very similar to that used by Blizzard for its Overwatch heroes. His proposal, in addition, does not remain in the design: it also makes a nod to the viral phenomenon The Bottle Cap Kick Challenge, which has featured so many publications lately on social media.
It seems that the list of characters that jump from their own games to Overwatch, thanks to the work and imagination of fans, never ends. Do not miss these other proposals with Aloy, from Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Samus Aran, from Metroid.
