Cyberpunk 2077 points to a new generation. PS5 and new Xbox?

CD Projekt seeks to harness "a new generation of technologies."

Will Cyberpunk 2077 be one of the first bets for a hypothetical PlayStation 5 and new Xbox? At the moment the title remains unconfirmed to which platforms it takes its suggestive futuristic setting, beyond its obvious premiere on PC, but a new talk with developers of CD Projekt RED has raised speculation by publicly citing interest in a "next generation technology".

The statements were taken during a presentation by Piotr Nielubowicz and Adam Kiciński, both members of the Polish study, at the recent Pareto Securities Gaming Seminar 2018. In that space they commented on how the RPG is "being built with current and new generation technology." This, obviously, has fostered the belief of a development cross-generation for Cyberpunk 2077.

But, as always, without knowing the closest context of these statements, little can be made clear. In this sense, the information could refer to taking advantage of the latest advances in technologies for the creation of graphic or playable sections of future video games or, simply, to new graphic cards. With that said, analysts have dated a 2020 release for PS5. Other rumors date it, along with the next Xbox, for 2021, will they arrive in time for the expected RPG?

CD Projekt confirmed the attendance of Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2018 a few weeks ago, while days ago its managers also called the video game a more ambitious project than The Witcher 3, launched in May 2015.
